method

Directions

Make a list of multi-step activities, for example playing a football match, having a hair cut etc.

Choose one activity. Ask the group members to call out all the possible steps. The adult will write these down.

Divide a piece of paper into 3 columns: label the columns first, next and last.

Then read out each step and ask the group members to decide which column it should go in. Re-write the step in one of the 3 columns.

Finally use the sheet with the 3 columns to explain, step by step, how the activity would be carried out. Ask the group members if they want to re-consider the order of particular steps.
