Directions

Explain to the group that we’re going to think about what we ate for lunch (or breakfast / dinner.)

Adult model the first turn: giving the group the first sound, and clapping the number of syllables of the food eaten. For example, ‘s’ + 3 claps (sandwiches). Then ask the group to try and guess what you ate for lunch!

Each child then takes a turn to give the first sound and clap the number of syllables of the food they ate for lunch.

To adapt this game ask the children to clap their favourite fruit / animal / colour / place to go on holiday etc.
